theorem

Ua2=Ua∘UaU_{a^2} = U_a \circ U_a

For any element aa in a Jordan algebra EE, the quadratic representation Ua2U_{a^2} of the square a2a^2 is equal to the composition of the quadratic representation UaU_a with itself: Ua2=Ua∘UaU_{a^2} = U_a \circ U_a where UxU_x denotes the positive linear map corresponding to the quadratic representation of an element x∈Ex \in E.

theorem

Fundamental Formula for Jordan Algebras: UUa(b)=Ua∘Ub∘UaU_{U_a(b)} = U_a \circ U_b \circ U_a

Let EE be a Jordan algebra. For any elements a,b∈Ea, b \in E, the quadratic representation of the element Ua(b)U_a(b) satisfies the fundamental formula: UUa(b)=Ua∘Ub∘Ua U_{U_a(b)} = U_a \circ U_b \circ U_a where Ux:E→EU_x: E \to E denotes the quadratic representation of an element xx, defined by Ux(y)=2x∘(x∘y)−(x2∘y)U_x(y) = 2x \circ (x \circ y) - (x^2 \circ y).
