Gårding vectors are analytic

i. Overview

Applying the candidate generator `n` times to a Gårding vector gives, up to a power of `i`, the Gårding vector of the `n`-th derivative of the heat kernel. Its norm is at most `‖ψ‖ C^(n + 1) √(n!)`, so every Gårding vector is an analytic vector of the candidate generator.

ii. Key results

theorem

The nn-th Iterated-Kernel Gårding Vector belongs to the Domain of the Stone Generator

Let HH be a Hilbert space and U:R→L(H)U: \mathbb{R} \to \mathcal{L}(H) be a strongly continuous one-parameter family of unitary operators. Let AA be the candidate infinitesimal generator (the `stoneCandidateGenerator`) associated with UU. For any natural number nn, any positive real width ϵ>0\epsilon > 0, and any vector ψ∈H\psi \in H, the Gårding vector associated with the nn-th derivative of the Gaussian kernel gϵg_\epsilon, defined as ψn,ϵ=∫−∞∞gϵ(n)(t)U(t)ψ dt, \psi_{n, \epsilon} = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} g_\epsilon^{(n)}(t) U(t)\psi \, dt, belongs to the domain of the operator AA.

theorem

Aψn,ϵ=iψn+1,ϵA \psi_{n, \epsilon} = i \psi_{n+1, \epsilon} for Gårding Vectors of Iterated Gaussian Kernels

Let gϵg_\epsilon denote the Gaussian kernel with width ϵ>0\epsilon > 0, and let gϵ(n)g_\epsilon^{(n)} be its nn-th derivative. For any natural number n∈Nn \in \mathbb{N} and any vector ψ∈H\psi \in H, define the Gårding vector ψn,ϵ\psi_{n, \epsilon} as ψn,ϵ=∫−∞∞gϵ(n)(t)U(t)ψ dt. \psi_{n, \epsilon} = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} g_\epsilon^{(n)}(t) U(t)\psi \, dt. Then the application of the generator AA to this vector satisfies the relation: Aψn,ϵ=iψn+1,ϵ, A \psi_{n, \epsilon} = i \psi_{n+1, \epsilon}, where ii is the imaginary unit.

theorem

Gårding vectors are analytic vectors for the candidate generator

Let HH be a complex Hilbert space and U:R→L(H)U: \mathbb{R} \to \mathcal{L}(H) be a strongly continuous one-parameter family of unitary operators. Let AA be the candidate infinitesimal generator (the `stoneCandidateGenerator`) associated with UU. For any ϵ>0\epsilon > 0 and any vector ψ∈H\psi \in H, the Gårding vector ψϵ\psi_\epsilon defined by the Gaussian kernel gϵg_\epsilon as ψϵ=∫−∞∞gϵ(t)U(t)ψ dt\psi_\epsilon = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} g_\epsilon(t) U(t)\psi \, dt is an analytic vector for AA. That is, ψϵ\psi_\epsilon is in the domain of AnA^n for all n∈Nn \in \mathbb{N}, and there exists a t>0t > 0 such that the power series ∑n=0∞∥Anψϵ∥n!tn\sum_{n=0}^\infty \frac{\|A^n \psi_\epsilon\|}{n!} t^n converges.
