PhyslibAlpha.AlgebraicFramework.WStarAlgebra.Concrete
The concrete `WStarAlgebraStructure (H →L[ℂ] H)` instance
Ported from `unbounded-alpha-public`'s `WStarAlgebra/InfiniteDim.lean`. This module is the integration point for the concrete predual construction of `Basic.lean`'s module docstring: the trace-class operators `𝒮₁(H)` (`HilbertSpace/TraceClass/Banach.lean`) form a complete normed space, the trace pairing `A ↦ (ρ ↦ Tr(Aρ))` is a linear isometry (`WStarAlgebra/TracePairingNorm.lean`), and Hilbert–Schmidt truncation proves that the pairing is onto (`WStarAlgebra/TracePairingSurjectivity.lean`). This file only packages that proved equivalence as the `WStarAlgebraStructure` instance. No capability class or unproved surjectivity certificate is used here, and the construction applies uniformly whether `H` is finite- or infinite-dimensional.

Surjectivity of the Trace Pairing Map
Let be a complex Hilbert space. Let denote the space of bounded linear operators on , and let denote the space of trace-class operators on equipped with the trace norm . The linear isometry from to the continuous dual space that maps each operator to the continuous linear functional is surjective.
Isometric isomorphism via trace pairing
Let be a complex Hilbert space. This definition is the isometric linear isomorphism between the space of bounded linear operators and the strong dual of the space of trace-class operators . The map identifies each operator with the continuous linear functional on defined by the trace pairing .
Let be a complex Hilbert space. For any bounded linear operator , the value of the isometric linear isomorphism (denoted as `tracePairingEquiv`) at is equal to the trace pairing functional (denoted as `tracePairing A`), which maps each trace-class operator to the trace of the product , denoted as .
-algebra structure on with predual
Let be a complex Hilbert space. The space of bounded linear operators (denoted `H →L[ℂ] H`) is equipped with a -algebra structure. This structure is defined by taking the predual to be the Banach space of trace-class operators (denoted `TraceClass H`). The canonical isometric isomorphism is given by the trace pairing , where and .
