Naturality of bounded effect-valued integration

A normal channel carries an effect-valued measure to an effect-valued measure. This file proves that the already-defined bounded integral commutes with that operation. The proof is intentionally at the order-unit/channel level: scalarization by a normal state is a later specialization, not a second limit argument.

Normed additive commutative group structure on EE induced by the order-unit norm

This instance equips the space EE with the structure of a normed additive commutative group. The norm ∥x∥\|x\| is defined as the order-unit norm induced by an Archimedean order unit 1\mathbb{1}, calculated as ∥x∥=inf⁡{r∈R≥0∣−r⋅1≤x≤r⋅1}\|x\| = \inf \{r \in \mathbb{R}_{\ge 0} \mid -r \cdot \mathbb{1} \le x \le r \cdot \mathbb{1} \}.

Normed additive commutative group structure on FF induced by the order-unit norm

This definition equips the space FF with the structure of a normed additive commutative group. The norm ∥x∥\|x\| for an element x∈Fx \in F is the order-unit norm, which is defined as the infimum of all r∈R≥0r \in \mathbb{R}_{\ge 0} such that −r⋅1≤x≤r⋅1-r \cdot 1 \le x \le r \cdot 1, where 11 is the Archimedean order unit of FF. This structure induces a metric on FF where the distance between two elements xx and yy is given by ∥x−y∥\|x - y\|.

Normal Channels Commute with Effect-Valued Integrals

Let Ω\Omega be a measurable space, and let EE and FF be ordered vector spaces equipped with order-unit norms. Let f:Ω→Rf: \Omega \to \mathbb{R} be a measurable function that is bounded by some constant M∈RM \in \mathbb{R} (i.e., ∣f(x)∣≤M|f(x)| \leq M for all x∈Ωx \in \Omega). Let μ\mu be an effect-valued measure on Ω\Omega taking values in EE, and let ϕ:E→F\phi: E \to F be a normal unital positive linear map. Then the integral of ff commutes with the action of the map ϕ\phi: ϕ(∫Ωf dμ)=∫Ωf d(ϕ∘μ)\phi \left( \int_\Omega f \, d\mu \right) = \int_\Omega f \, d(\phi \circ \mu) where ϕ∘μ\phi \circ \mu is the push-forward effect-valued measure defined by (ϕ∘μ)(S)=ϕ(μ(S))(\phi \circ \mu)(S) = \phi(\mu(S)) for any measurable set S⊆ΩS \subseteq \Omega.
